Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using SusurElf (“the Extension,” “the Service,” or “SusurElf”), a Safari sidebar AI assistant operated by Courage Creates Pinnacle Technology Co., Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

SusurElf is a Safari extension for macOS that adds a sidebar AI assistant. It allows users to summarize web pages, translate content, ask questions about screenshots and web content, generate mind maps, and create web podcasts. The Service connects to third-party AI providers (including Aliyun DashScope) through our backend gateway.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the right, authority, and capacity to agree to these Terms.

3. Accounts and Authentication

SusurElf uses Google OAuth for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.

4. Free and Paid Subscriptions

We offer a free tier that includes a one-time grant of 150 credits as part of a 14-day trial, subject to monthly availability limits. Free trial slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and may be temporarily unavailable when the monthly limit is reached. Paid subscription plans include a monthly credit allowance for expanded access. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and features are described on our Pricing page. Payments for purchases made through the Chrome/Web channel are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Purchases made through the App Store are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms. By subscribing via Paddle, you agree to Paddle’s terms and payment processing policies.

• All fees are quoted in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing date.
• We may change subscription fees upon reasonable notice; changes apply at the next billing cycle.

5. Credits and Usage

The Service uses a credit system. Credits are pre-purchased units of usage that are deducted as you use the Service’s features, such as summaries, translations, questions, mind maps, and podcasts. The free tier includes a one-time grant of 150 credits for the 14-day trial described in Section 4. Paid subscription plans include a monthly credit allowance, as described on our Pricing page.

Credits are deducted based on actual usage. The number of credits consumed by a request depends on factors such as content length, language, and the AI model used. Any numbers shown on our Pricing page or in the Extension indicating how many chats, pages, or other actions you can complete are estimates provided for planning purposes only; they are not commitments or guarantees of a specific number of requests.

Credits do not refresh daily. Free trial credits are one-time and do not carry over; they remain available only for the duration of the 14-day trial period. Unused credits in paid plans reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not carry over to the next cycle.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights;
• Generate, distribute, or promote harmful, illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, hateful, or sexually explicit content;
• Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Extension;
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service;
• Upload or process sensitive personal data of others without lawful basis or consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for violations of these rules.

7. Intellectual Property

The Extension, its code, design, branding, and documentation are owned by Courage Creates Pinnacle Technology Co., Ltd. and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal or internal business purposes. Output generated by AI models is provided to you for your own use; we make no claim of ownership over your prompts or generated outputs, subject to applicable third-party model terms.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party AI providers and infrastructure services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third parties. Your use of AI-generated output is at your own risk, and you should verify any critical information before relying on it.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and uninstall the Extension at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SusurElf OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Courage Creates Pinnacle Technology Co., Ltd. and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Courage Creates Pinnacle Technology Co., Ltd. operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation and, if necessary, binding arbitration or litigation in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
